hello, summer vacay. i love you.

{these trees are blooming everywhere here right now...}

I love sleeping in in the mornings. The boys love it, too. They enjoy getting up and just playing quietly which is awesome for me! ^_^ That means I've been up a bit later at night working away on projects, and enjoying a bit of free time. I'm sure I'm probably the last one in the world to say this, but I watched Mama, Mia last night and really liked it! I'm not really a girl that's into musicals, but I love Meryl Streep, so I thought it was great. Also got a chance to finish Julie and Julia - which I of course, LOVED. I'm also on a mission to catch up on some more of Cate Blanchett's work after being reminded of how great she is while watching Robin Hood.

I missed doing my designer/inspiration post this week. Something I've been doing lately on Saturday. Sadly, we've had good and bad news health-wise for the family this week, so we've been wrapped up in trying to help out and keep them in our prayers. The happy news is that we have a brand spanking new niece - and she's as adorable as heck! The not-so-good news is that mama's having a tough recovery. We're hoping and praying that everything's sorted out soon, and everyone's on the happy road to growing and recovery! ^_^

Now that summer's here, I've got a to-do list coming together that includes catching up with old friends, re-making the boys' room, books to read, an Etsy shop to get up and running, products to test and prototype...I never have a shortage of things to keep me busy.

I've also undertaken the task of organizing my substantial collection of personal recipes. I had no idea that I had soooo many. Hundreds. Just. Hundreds. If I think about it too much it gets overwhelming... ^_^ I've set a goal to work on a 1-2 per week + keep a notebook handy while I'm cooking to jot down quantities and times... It's been helping tremendously!
We also started a the 30 Day Shred yesterday for the second time! I'm a bit sore today, but pumped. I love how I feel like conquering the world when I finish! Weee! One thing at a time, right?! That's my other reminder to myself today: sometimes you gotta slow down, girl. It's all  good. Relax a bit.

It is summer after all!

Off to make the perfect oatmeal cookies! I couldn't find a recipe that worked for me, so I made my own.
One final note. I found this article through Kal Barteski's blog. Love. Happy Summer!
