winter joy

I've had a few of these clay hearts that I made last year laying on my scrapbook table all year long, and when I started this wreath, I knew that it was the perfect finishing touch for it!

Here's a bit of the detail -
Made with lots of Maya Road goodies - you can check out a bit of a list in the blog post, if you're interested!

minty mint

One of our assignment topics for Get It Scrapped this past month was to scrapbook with the color mint. That was SUCH an easy one for me! LOL I've had these little mint chocolate brownies on the brain for a while that we used to make when I was a kid - and there we had it! Stop in to the blog to see the other goodness the girls came up with! ^_^

Happy Saturday!

Staying uber busy around here with holiday prep and work - but also enjoying that my husband is off for the entire week. It lightens my load tremendously when he's around. Plus, he's just plain good company. ;-)

it's a jbs christmas

Over on the inspiration blog this month, the design team has been sharing ideas for holiday decor, gift tags, wrapping, and cards - love all of the tags, advent calendars, packaging... I really adore this time of year!

I put together these sweet little trees for our shelf:
You can check out the post here for a supply list and a few tips on making them!

And Jenni is celebrating the holidays with an open house!

You can check out details here - she has special vintage items, and a December Daily kit as well!
Such a fun little collection of goods!

I've been hopping with holiday orders in my shops - and am hoping to send out a little update in the next week of goods, etc in the newsletter. I've got more holiday flair buttons ordered, and a few more new styles of camera strap cover to list before the holidays. I've given up on getting my new item up before the holidays. lol I just can't squeeze one more thing in at the moment!

Happy Friday!

using modeling paste on your layouts

One of my assignments for Get It Scrapped this month was to use modeling paste on a layout. I love adding techniques used in art journaling to my pages - but I don't always like them to be "in your face". Sometimes, I just want them to add a subtle layer of texture, like it does here...

Stop in to the blog post there to see what the other girls from the creative team made - love!

she believed

even when it didn't seem she could...

It's been kind of a tough month dealing with sick kiddos - everything from a round of stomach flu to a couple of rounds of colds/cough... It makes me so grateful for how healthy they are generally.

This is just a reminder to myself to keep at it. Keep believing. And on that note - that's the current theme for Paper Issues. So link 'em if you got 'em! I'm loving this Soleil line from Basic Grey... And you can always use code BLUEBIRD for 20% off your purchase from Paper Issues if you feel like snagging something! ^_^

Happy Friday!

carving jack

This was the first year that the boys really took over a big portion of their pumpkin carving, and it was totally cool. They took out the guts and then drew their own designs on paper to trace on to their pumpkins. We try to let our kids be as hands on as possible and not do stuff for them. How else do they learn? We had so much fun hanging out together as a family!

Here's a peek at a photo that my husband snapped of me - I always wear this olive green witches hat! I picked it up a few years ago, and the boys love it as much as I do!
Hope you enjoyed your halloween festivities!
