happy retirement

I'm closing my digital store doors for now! I love designing, so I know it won't be for forever, but with so many things going on, and moving in other directions, it's just not possible to juggle everything right now.
I've had a wonderful time working with Tina at SugarHill Co, and she'll be the first I turn to when I decide to re-open! For now, enjoy my retirement sale - everything in my shop is $1.99 through the end of the month!

a flurry of activity

I swear I'm just a blur running back and forth these days. I'm currently juggling multiple projects and business prep, plus getting ready for the holidays. And I love it. Thankfully the headaches have stopped. Until I head back to the dentist in the first part of January I'm sure. Oh well! I'll take what I can get. ^_^

Our tree:
I came up with the feather idea last year and everyone looked at me sideways. Until they saw it on the tree! It looks magical.

My handmade knit items are finished, blocked and pressed. Ready for the mail on Monday.

And I'm the free gift with purchase girlie over at Sugarhill Co.  this week! If you make a purchase of $5 or more, you get my printable New Year's banner, invite and cupcake toppers for free! Wee! I'm printing a bunch of these off this week to give out to our family for our little New Year's get together... but first for the Christmas cards! Ack!

Have a lovely weekend! I braved the crowds for a haircut and a bit of shopping earlier and am so glad to be home. It's pouring and I got SOAKED!

Launching a new type of product in my little shop!

I'm so excited to start offering a brand new "service" in my little digi shop! This will include items made with traditional/"paper" scrapbooking supplies, hybrid or digital - whichever fits your personality and style best! I've had requests for these in the past, and I'm excited to start offering it here in my SugarHillCo. shop!

For each of these custom items, there is no download included, but shortly after your purchase, you'll receive an email from me with a few questions. Your answers will help determine which direction we'll take, and I'll start putting together a "proof" for you. When we're finished with the creating process, I'll either upload the header for you, or pass along instructions for you to add it yourself - your choice! :) Normally, the process will take 2-5 days, depending on how busy I am!  If you'd like to see samples of some that I've done for myself, and one custom banner, check here!

I'm offering a VERY special price on this - JUST through Saturday evening, 11:59pm, all custom blog header/banners will be 50% off!

In the coming weeks, I'll be adding other custom services as well!

busy on the digi front!

I re-kitted and added a bunch of my old stuffs to my new digi store this past weekend! I'm trying to get things up to date so that I can start adding NEW. ^_^ I've got some great ideas coming! :)

My all time favorite kit to date -
I decked out my blog in this last year, and added Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music - so that every time someone stopped by, there was a little pause while it loaded and then the creaky door sound. Bwahahahaha! I had so many people tell me they were looking over their shoulders!

And here's a layout I made with it last year...

{I'm really starting to get excited for Halloween! Eee!}
Love this one. I think it's an essential for your stash. {but then, I love my kraft paper and I love patterns, so...}

To add some inky, painty, grunginess to your digi stuffs... I used this kit to create the current header for my blog.

Another fave. Fun journaling cards that are really versatile.

Stay close for updates!!! I'm hoping to have some fun news to share later this week! I'm really excited to start offering a new type of product in my shop, and I think you'll be excited, too! ^_^

Have a lovely Tuesday!

planning...

Spending today on more planning for school! The boys are actually getting excited... can you believe that?!

And speaking of planning... see those pages up in that photo? They're part of a custom mommy/teacher planner that I put together for myself last year! I got tired of looking for something that wasn't just functional, but cute as well, so I decided to give it a shot, and this is what I came up with! It includes a "mommy planner" title page in addition to the "lesson planner", so you could use either...
It's available in my little shop here if you're interested! And I'm really happy with the fun stuff I worked on yesterday for my "creative day." I altered a fun t-shirt {will share pics soon!}, and put together a couple of layouts. Hope you're enjoying your Tuesday!

***A quick amendment to my post... I posted a little thread over at SugarHill - if you comment before midnight EST on Sunday, August 22,  you'll be entered for a chance to win a free copy of the planner! ^_^*** Good luck!!

vacation photos: market

Slowly, slowly, I'll be working on getting these photos edited and posted. Today is the final day of hubby's vacation, so we are slipping and sliding back into "normal" mode. It's been so nice, and I'm so, so happy that he especially was able to have the time to relax...

On Saturday, my mom & I went to the local farmer's market. Sooooo lovely. One cool thing - I didn't feel self conscious taking photos at all - I had one of the smaller camera's on straps running around there! It's a really picturesque spot, and there is a local private college with a great arts program {yes, I interviewed, and they wanted me. ^_^ Still didn't happen. Wasn't meant to be. ;)}, so that could explain it a bit! The people pretty much ignored the camera's and went about their business. Cool beans.

I bought flowers from a very elderly lady. She was there with her daughter, and I'm sure this was her spending money. ^_^ I bought zinnia's because my grandmother planted them in her garden every summer...

Got some big, juicy heirloom tomatoes at this booth. YUM.

The downtown area is nestled between the craggy bluffs and the river. Makes for gorgeous photos...

From a local organic farm. There are some really great growers locally that really believe in what they do!

Hope you're enjoying your weekend! I'm hoping to scrapbook some of these photos later!!

Don't forget - my little shop at SugarHillco is open today!! Everything is 40% off for the week, and MissTiina has a fabulous free gift with your $5 purchase running as well!

handmade update...

Have you missed me? I'm still getting settled after vacay I guess! Honestly, hubby is still off of work, so I'm slowly getting back into "work" things on my side, too... I have several exciting things in the works in the coming days and weeks!!!

Very cool stuff coming on the digi front - the grand opening of my new shop at SugarHillco is August 1!! Everything on site will be 40% off! So stop by and check it out!

And plans for my Etsy are moving, moving, moving... obviously, nothing listed yet, but there will be soon! ^_^

Here's a peek at some of the things I've been working on:

And for those of you that didn't already know, we're a homeschool family - so I'm in full swing with ordering and registering for our fall activities! I have waited until August in the past, and found that was a no-no for moi. Everything took longer to ship and they mixed up my orders. Pooh. Then I spent hours on the phone + running to the post office to return things + trying to sort out what was missing. Boogers. I don't have time for that, and have found it much easier to order in July. Plus, all of the sites that I order from are offering great deals like free shipping, and deep discounts. {I guess they're trying to encourage peeps to order early as well! lol}

Hope you're enjoying your Saturday!!

digiscrap goodness

I haven't digiscrapped in a quite a while, and since I'm releasing a new kit this weekend, I thought I'd play!

Here's what I put together...
I'm looking forward to putting together a few fun hybrid projects for the weekend as well!

Here's the new 1950's inspired independence day kit up in my little digi shop! ^_^

You can find it here! And it's up for a special price this first week... ^_^

Enjoy your holiday weekend if you're here in the States!

New digi brushes...

If you've ever wondered how I got the look of the image in my blog header... here it is! I created these digital brushes for adding that inky, painty look to my digi pages and projects... instead of having to spray, splatter, brush or bubblewrap something each time, it's convenient to have these to add to your pages - plus you can use them in any color at the touch of a button and re-size to your heart's desire. Move them all over the place until you're ready, too... there are 23 different brushes included in the kit - as well as the .png file for each brush!

Check them out here in my little digi shop at misstiina.com! {There's also a commercial use version if you're interested in using them to distress and blend to create your digital kits!}

because it makes my heart happy...

Playing a bit last night, because it makes my heart happy:

{look for it in the upcoming January 2011 issue of Scrapbook Trends}

And if you wanna get to know me just a wee bit better, you can stop by misstiina's blog! She asked me a series of questions to find out a bit about me, and while you're there, grab the freebie hybrid card + tutorial that I put together for you!

Happy Wednesday!

Happy {i}NSD!

I am so excited {and proud} to announce that my digital designs are available for purchase again!

You can find the tiny {at the moment} shop here at misstiina.com...

And in honor of {i}NSD, I'm having a nice little sale. I'll ba adding things all month long - a few older kits and newer things mostly focusing on hybrid projects and cards...

And of course, since it's THE day devoted to scrapbooking, I took a few minutes and spent some time just scrapping for me... playing with some of my favorite things.

Hope you're enjoying all of the celebrations!

Saying goodbye to digi... for the moment...

Victorian Valentine marks my last digital mini kit for a while!
I absolutely adore what a couple of my girls did with this kit! It's sweet, and fun - and filled with lots of texture!

Becky also used brushes from my stained and splattered set...
I adore the whitespace Cheryl used in her layout...

And Jess included the tiny alpha set from Vintage Spooky...
Brittney went the other direction with this one and used the blue items in the kit to journal about puppy love... :)
The Scoop:
The fabulously fun site that I've had the privilege of selling at for the past year has been sold! I'm soooo happy for the owners, since they put so much of their time and effort into building it! They are busy, busy with their families now, and just don't have the time to devote to it anymore. ;) {I can totally relate to that!}

So what does this mean for me? Well... I've decided to take a break from digi designing for a while. Having a tiny break to step back and think about things made me realize that I was spending a lot of my time on the computer, and I'm just feeling the need for a bit a of a break. ;) I may seek out a few guest spots in the upcoming months, but I won't be selling in my own little shop for a while. Instead, I actually have a bunch of other things that I'm working on! Including lots more things with paper scrapbooking supplies, and getting an Etsy shop up and running that will feature items that are handknit, crocheted and sewn. {Yay! Finally have time to work on that! It's been on my to-do/dream list for quite a while...} And getting a lot of my personal recipe down and organized! Woot!

What does that mean for my designs? Well, if you have my kits, please continue to use them for personal use. Have fun scrapping! My Terms of Use will continue to be in effect, even though I'm not selling. You can not give away my kits for free, or share them with others. It's a violation of copyright law. ;) After the shop removes my designs and TOU, I'll have a link posted here on my blog! If you've bought a commercial use item, please continue to use them that way! I'd love to see things you've put together using them! Just remember, the same TOU included in the kit is also still in effect!

Much love and thanks to the girls on my creative team that have supported me through the process and promoted my designs! And thanks to all of you that have bought my kits and used them to scrap your memories! This was a tough decision for me, but ultimately, it feels like the right choice for now... and guess what? I'm happy with it! :D

P.S.: Don't forget! Everything in my shop is 40% off through February 28, when FPD will shut it's doors to prepare for their re-opening!

fresh flowers, fresh bread, sneak peeks & a give away!

Hubby surprised me with these when I opened the door last night! Whew! Pink isn't normally my color, but these are GORGEOUS. :)
On the way home from soccer this morning, we stopped and grabbed a loaf of fresh bread from the Jamaican bakery! I baked a black cake today, and needed it, but we got to eat most of it! HeeHee... It's pretty cool here today, and the fresh, warm bread was such a treat!
Spent most of my afternoon in the kitchen... then iced cookies while a tire-less Mater supervised. I actually had help for a bit, but that didn't last long!

Sneak peeks of what I'm up to this weekend! Working with the February kit from The Paper Niche...

A sneaky peek of a new mini kit to release for Monday...
And in honor of the lovey holiday approaching, I'm going to give away a set of these:

Just leave a comment on this blog post telling me one craftsy thing you'd love to learn this year!

Comments for the giveaway will be open until Tuesday, February 16 {our anniversary}. Once the winner is chosen, I'll contact you, and you can tell me what initials you'd like on your knitted hearts! And no worries if you're single! You could just use your first and last initial! :D
